THE URGENCY
Plastic doesn’t belong in nature. It impacts wildlife, waterways, and oceans in ways we are just beginning to understand.
Unless we repair our fundamentally broken global system of plastic production, consumption and waste management, there could be a pound of plastic for every three pounds of fish in the ocean within the next decade. World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) vision for eliminating plastic waste in nature by 2030 calls for a comprehensive global plan to address the problem at its root – engaging all critical stakeholders in the system, including governments, cities, the private sector and the public.
